OMEGA (2025)

Co-Editor, Colourist

I have been brought on board to help finalise the edit for S.K.T. Production's latest short film, OMEGA, which tells the story of two broken individuals who find solace in one another through their shared inner pain.

The film hopes to tackle themes of grief, addiction, domestic violence and depression in the hopes of raising awareness of how these issues not only impact those directly suffering from them, but also the impact it has on those around them.

I will also be editing Sean Khaled's upcoming short horror film, Compound 13, which focuses on a young girl a year after a devastating zombie outbreak. The project is ambitious and promises scares aplenty with gripping characters and moments that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

Compound 13 is currently crowdfunding, check out the link below to see how you could help out and you could have your name in the credits as a special thank you for your support!

Thanks for all the Laughs! (2025)

Director, Writer, Editor, Colourist

A film written, directed and edited by myself, Thanks for all the Laughs! is very much a passion project that has been a long time in development.  The film features the host of a late night talk show, reminiscing on the recent passing of a regular guest on the show, the comedian, Alan Harkman and tackles the theme of grief.

The most challenging aspect of Thanks for all the Laughs! was creating an authentic looking TV Talk Show set on a very limited budget, which was possible thanks to the fantastic media and theatre technical staff at Northumbria University, making use of an old newsroom and achieving a believable looking set with lighting and furniture that we had to hand.  I created a graphic for the show's logo to place in the background to give it that final touch of authenticity. The film also required me to emulate a late 90s/early 2000s retro look to footage that was supposed to be from a past episode of the talk show, which I was able to achieve through the use of noise, grain, posturize time and gaussian blur and applying a 4:3 aspect ratio bar.

Thanks for all the Laughs! is currently undergoing some final revisions to the sound mix before submitting to national film festivals. Watch this space to see where you can catch it!

Alone I-N-S-I-D-E (2025)

Editor, Colourist

This play is centred around a young, optimistic prison guard, Casey, on her first day on the job as she quickly becomes witness to the horrors that lie behind the cell walls. The story features three troubled and complex inmates who each tell their story about how they got to be in prison and the harsh treatment and neglect they have suffered since.

I was tasked with editing together a recording of the performance that was to be used as a proof of concept for submissions for the play to be shown at Edinburgh Fringe Festival as well as Durham Fringe Festival. The performance was shot in a scene by scene order with three takes each, using a multi-cam setup. I was also tasked to edit this piece on DaVinci which at the time I was unfamiliar with but was able to learn the software quite quickly to put together the video. On the back of the video, the play was successfully green lit to appear at both with the show set to play on the 23rd and 24th of July in Durham with the dates for Edinburgh as of yet still to be confirmed.

Return to the Stage (2025)

Editor, Colourist, Sound Recordist/Mixer

The film focuses on a renowned actor, coming back to the stage for the first time after a long hiatus for a reading of Shakespeare’s “The Tempest”. His nerves for the performance force him to stumble over his lines as he rehearses and he is anxious of messing up his lines while on stage.

This film came with a multitude of hurdles, most relevant of which being that I had no prior experience with recording sound for a drama project prior to joining the project, so I dedicated much of pre-production to getting familiar with the audio mixer and how to record perfect sound on the day. I also had to overcome a last minute change of shooting location as well as a tight schedule to complete filming by. In the end, I was able to record sound in which was clear and crisp. The colour grade for the film drew inspiration from films such as Birdman (2014) and Whiplash (2014), particularly the warmer tones of the latter.

Family Business
(2024)

Editor, Colourist, Writer

A young woman, Alex, meets her mob boss father in a prison visitation room where she is trusted with the completion of a task that could shape the future of their family of crime forever.

Family Business was a short film in which I wrote the script and also served as the editor for the film.  The film provided with challenges that pushed my limits as an editor, having to edit together a very brief, fast-paced action scene as well as utilising a black and white colour grade to make the prison visitation room seen in the film seem more convincing than the classroom we used to shoot the scenes in.

Band Brothers
(2023)

Editor, Colourist, Asst. Camera, Asst. Sound Recordist, Sound Mixer

This short observational documentary follows the triplets that form the band, Spilt Milk, as they produce a new song for their, at the time, upcoming album.

The film was particularly tricky to put together in the edit, as we had a multi-cam setup between the recording studio and mixing booth with no sync point, which meant attempting to manually sync the audio. The stage lighting for the final performance was also a hinderance in the edit, but I opted to go for an Inbetweeners style, high contrast/low saturation look that complimented the band's personality and worked well as a closing shot for the film.

Gareth
(2023)

Director

Gareth is a short documentary about the railway enthusiast and engineer, Gareth Dennis, exploring his love for railway infrastructure.

This was the first documentary we produced at university and was one in which I directed, which was at the time quite out of my comfort zone. Filmed in the National Railway Museum in York, it served as the perfect backdrop for Gareth's story, particularly in the archive where he was able to talk about objects such as the last burger to be ever served on a GNER service, which he coins as "Schrödinger's burger".
